We do paper restoration & mending. Topical paper deacidification can be accomplished on site. We utilize standard paper mending techniques & materials for tattered & torn pages. The techniques used are the standards of the last 500 years of traditional bookbinding in Europe.
Here are some other jobs that we're about to work on. These are typical problems. It is vital to trust valuable books to a bookbinder that won't let you down. It is a satisfaction, performing the magic on an important treasure, repairing it in the style of the original, that is our raison d'etre.
An obvious problem that requires mending with Japanese tissue.
The wear
and tear on the book is typically on the moveable parts,
the hinges,
the paper fold and by its nature of being an object, the corners.
